In the downtown of Jordan’s capital Amman and between the busy streets of the city centre, people are walking around not noticing the buildings surrounding them nor understanding the history behind them. What was once a spot for glamour and celebrities from all over the Arab world now is neglected, forgotten and abandoned. Cinema Al Hussien, cinema Falasteen and cinema Al-Hamra three of Amman’s famous old cinema theatres were once a hub for fresh movies from the Arab world, Hollywood and Bollywood. In the 60s and 70s the golden era of cinema theatres in Amman, the three cinema theatres were functioning on full capacity and most of the movies were sold out in no time.
